Dear Parent or Guardian,
The theme for the chapter is Los pasatiempos (Hobbies) and this chapter is called ¿Quieres ir conmigo? (Do you want to go with me?). Upon completion of this chapter, your child will be able to:
talk about after-school activities
extend, accept, and decline invitations
tell when an event happens
understand cultural perspectives on after-school activities
Also, your child will explore:
the correct pronunciation of the letter d
some Spanish words that are borrowed from English
We will also help students develop reading, writing, and speaking skills through the use of strategies, process speaking, and process writing. In this chapter, students will:
read about sports cards and information on two golfers
write an invitation to a special event
Check it out! Have your child write three sentences in Spanish about leisure
activities or sports that he or she enjoys. Then ask him or her what each sentence
means.
